Thursday July 15 - Bus tour of New York City
Time: 9:30 am - Location: Gray Line Visitors Center, 777 8th Avenue (between 47th & 48th Steet)
Join us on this bus tour to get a quick overview of New York and its many sights and possibilities.
We jump on the Gray Line doubledecker busses and ride the Downtown Loop: Where history meets technology
- the neighborhoods on the Downtown Loop are some of the oldest and some of the newest in Manhattan. Areas include Greenwich Village, where the literary past comes alive, and Times Square, the UN, Empire State Building - an icon of architecture, as well as the Flatiron building and Union Square shopping districts, Soho, Chinatown, Little Italy, Battery Park and South Street Seaport, Lower East Side, East Village, Rockefeller Center and more.
Eventhough we will stay on the bus for the duration of the loop (3 hours), we suggest getting the All Loops Double Decker Tour, which gives unlimited access to jumping on and off the busses for 48 hours. This tour cost $49 per person, which also gives access to the Uptown Loop, Brooklyn Loop and the Night Tour. However, if you prefer only to go on the Downtown Loop, this tour cost $37 per person. Thursday July 15 - Happy hour: Welcome to New York
Time: 5:30 pm - Location: Ameritania Hotel, 230 West 54th street (corner of Broadway & 54th street)
To kick off the wedding celebration, we would like to invite you to have a drink with us in the bar of our hotel and to meet and greet some of the other guests.
Friday July 16 - Tour to Statue of Liberty
Time: 9:00 am - Location: Ameritania Hotel, 230 West 54th street (corner of Broadway & 54th street)
Join us for this walking tour of lower Manhattan, which will kick off with a visit to the Statue of Liberty. From the hotel we will walk to the Subway, which will take us to Battery Park and the Circleline ferries to Statue of Liberty. N.B. Reservations can not be made, so it's important to get there early in the morning to avoid standing in line for hours, waiting to board the ferries.
Tickets are $10 for adults, which get you on the ferries that stops at both Liberty Island and Ellis Island with the immigration museum. Please note that entrance into the Statue of Liberty is not permitted at this time, eventhough it is scheduled to re-open sometime during summer 2004.Click here for more information.
After our visit to Liberty Island, there will be a walking tour of Lower Manhattan, where we among others will visit Ground Zero and the Brooklyn Bridge.
Friday July 16 - Baseball game
Time: 7:10 am - Location: Shea Stadium, Flushing
Here is your chance to experience a real american major league baseball game... as the New York Mets are playing the Philadelphia Phillies while we are in town. Mets fans are notorious, so expect great atmosphere... along with lots of ice cold beer and hotdogs.
Tickets start from $16, but if we can't get those the next level tickets are $27.

Monday July 19 - Brunch

For those of you who are still in town and a bit hungry the day after, please join us for breakfast/brunch at Norma's. We would love to say goodbye before our honeymoon departure.
